Nikon P80 Digital Camera

With so many digital cameras on the market right now people have the opportunity to get exactly that they are looking for. This often means the smallest one possible, which means a device that his highly pocketable but lacking in certain areas, most especially zoom. Forget digital zoom–if you want to take great shots you need the real thing and today’s non-DSLR cameras will get you up to 12x optical zoom or higher without breaking the bank.

Nikon’s P80 is what I would call a travel camera. Most people prefer to travel with the lightest, smallest camera they can find while others prefer to bring along their DSLR, but neither solution is idea–the small camera lacks zoom and often image quality while the DSLR is heavy, requires lens, and can be very expensive to walk around with. The P80 is a relatively compact 10.1MP camera that does not have a removable lens or manual zoom adjustment. This means that it is basically a high-end point-and-click camera, which is great from a usability standpoint, but with a wide-angle NIKKOR lens that is capable of 18x optical zoom it’s not your average camera. Throw in a 2.7-inch LCD and a 12.9 oz. carrying weight, and you have something worth checking out.
