Gears of War 2 Inspired Zune PMP

Microsoft has decided to release the new Gears of War 2 Special-edition Zune PMP on November 7th, 2008. The gadget comes pre-loaded with 244 pieces of “Gears of War” media including the soundtrack, concept art, behind-the-scenes videos, etc. The gadget is priced at $280, with pre-orders at Walmart.com and Amazon.com starting tonight. Upcoming Sony PlayStation 4?

The upcoming Sony PlayStation 4 will feature a faster Cell chip (up to 3.2GHz) and a small size Chip (from a 90 nanometer process down to 45 nanometers) with a higher cores from 8 to 12. The new console will use a low-power DDR3 instead of the very fast but expensive Rambus XDR memory in the PS3. Stay tuned for more updates. [Impress]

Quantum of Solace Video Game On November 4th 2008

James Bond fans will be glad to hear that they will be able to play Activision’s Quantum of Solace Video Game on November 4th, 2008. Activision also announced that for those who preorders the game at GameStop, for PlayStation 3, or Xbox 360, will recieve a complementary token which will give them access to a free map pack. In addition, anyone who preorders this video game at Best Buy will get a ten dollar discount on any James Bond DVD. Saints Row 2 Video Game

The new Saints Row 2 will be released on October 14th, 2008 in America. The game features additional weather effects, which means the rain and wind have dramatic effects on the landscape including the sea tides and roads. The city also looks more realistic. [GT]

New Nintendo DS Tomorrow?

MCV reports that Nintendo will announce a new updated version of the Nintendo DS tomorrow morning. Their sources in Japan “whispered” that Satoru Iwata will make a press release at 5am UK time. Details are blurry (as always) but the new console is at least expected to come with MP3 playing and camera functions.[Gizmodo]

PSP and 360 Chatpad are a match hacked in heaven

Some dedicated hackers have finally managed to get the PSP and Microsoft's Xbox 360 Chatpad typing. There are still a few kinks to smooth out, but the hard part seems over, with l0rdnic0 managing a tiny bit of soldiering using a PSP remote cable and some software from the Open Keyboard Project. It's all still pretty nerdy at the moment, and we're still miffed at that Logic 3 getting cancelled way back when, but we suppose this will have to do.[ENGADGET]

PSP 3000 To Have Worse Battery Life, But Sony Takes Note

The PSP 3000 will have a brighter LCD with a wider color gamut and 5 times the contrast ratio of the PSP 2000. From the shots we've seen, it blows the old screen away—and that screen was already pretty decent. There is, of course, a catch. And that catch is that the PSP will lose somewhere between 20 and 30 minutes of battery life compared to the old PSP, putting its playtime to 3 1/2 to 4 hours. But to compensate, Sony will be rereleasing the just-discontinued PSP extended battery to the market which should still provide 8-10 hours of play. [Gamespot via Maxconsole]
