Sony To Launch 160GB PS3 In October

Sony is launching the 160GB Playstation 3 on October 31. This new model has more than twice the storage capacity of current models, an attractive feature for users with a penchant for downloading and storing videos, music and photos, in addition to games and game extras. Other features include Playstation Network content, a Blu-ray Disc player, DUALSHOCK3 wireless controllers, video chat and online play. It will be available in Europe and the US for a retail price of €449 and US$499 respectively. [Electronic House]

The 160GB for that price is most certainly a good deal. I always thought I'd never need the system to have that much space, but it's nice to not have to worry about downloading demos and importing media.

By the way, all you readers that have yet to get a PS3 might also want to take a look at this Stacker 2 contest going on where you can win the system or a 360 (your choice). All you need to do to enter is design a 6 Hour Power t-shirt. It's surprisingly easy to design one online, and right now there are less than 250 entrants too. Check out the details here: http://www.brickfish.com/Entertainment/Stacker2?tab=overview

By the way, I hope you don't mind me commenting on your site. I work with 6 Hour Power so let me know if you have any questions or if you end up entering... I'd be happy to vote for your designs. Good luck.
