Motorola i776 Mobile Phone Unveiled

Motorola has recently unveiled its new mobile phone that adopts a built-in GPS receiver and Bluetooth connectivity. The Motorola i776 is a new prepaid phone from Target. The phone can save up to 600 contacts and provides you 3.5 hours of talk time or 84 hours of standby time. The handset can also act as a wireless modem via miniUSB. AT&T Releases Motorola MOTO Q Smartphone

The Motorola MOTO Q Global smartphone is now available exclusively for AT&T customers with the latest Windows Mobile 6.1 OS. This eye catching handset features GPS via AT&T’s network, 3G and CrystalTalk technology for a clear sound quality. Measuring 118mm x 66.7mm x 11.8mm and weighing 4.73 ounces, the smartphone also offers some pre-loaded features including Good Mobile Messaging, Opera browser, BlackBerry Connect and Documents To Go from DataViz which enables work with Microsoft Office and Adobe PDF files. Other features include Windows Media Player, 256MB flash and 96 MB RAM, and up to 32GB of optional microSD card. AT&T sells this handset for $149.99 with a two-year contract and qualified voice and data plans at AT&T retail stores. [PhoneArena]

RadioShack Offers Sprint’s Samsung Instinct Handset

RadioShack has planned to release Sprint’s Samsung Instinct in the US on this Labor Day weekend. RadioShack offers a special discount for the handset with the price tag of $99.99. The special pricing will start on Friday, August 29 until the Labor Day weekend and is available only for RadioShack customers who sign up for a new Sprint Simply Everything Plan.
The Samsung Instinct is known for its ability to quickly browse the Internet, access business or personal email, and share pictures with one finger tap on the touch-screen phone. Its two batteries offers up to 11 hours of talk time. Other specifications are include GPS navigation and live search capabilities, 3D maps, Digital voice mail, and stereo Bluetooth. [SlashPhone]

The U4 borrows a few design cues from Samsung's TV lineup, but while it's certainly sexier than the previous generation, we can't help but think it looks a bit frumpy given the teensy grey OLED screen and stingy 2GB and 4GB capacities. The players boast 16 hours of playback, DNSe 2.0, and come in rose, purple and blue flavors. Meanwhile, the Q1 (pictured) seems to be frump grown up, with a 2.4-inch QVGA LCD and those purported 4, 8 and 16GB capacities. Samsung is also touting its DNSe 3.0 in the new player, which can "upconvert" audio to improve quality... supposedly. You can score one in October in black, white or silver, while the U4 should be shipping nowish.[via]

Samsung debuts X360 "lighter than air" ultraportable

Newsflash, Samsung: your (previously rumored) new X360 laptop isn't actually lighter than air. Also newsflash: it's still pretty special. Samsung shouted a resounding "me too!" today with its new X360 13.3-inch ultraslim / ultralight / ultraportable laptop. Weighing in at 2.8 pounds and measuring as thin as 0.66-inches (1.2-inches on the fatter end), the laptop is based on a Centrino 2 ULV processor and is built to compete. 1GB of RAM is standard -- there's room for up to 4GB -- and you can pick a 64GB or 128GB SSD, or opt for a 5400RPM 120GB HDD if you're feeling boring. Graphics come from X4500 integrated graphics, and the screen runs at 1280 x 800. The best and worst news comes with the inputs and outputs; Samsung didn't integrate an optical drive, but did find room for a 7-in-1 card reader, three USB ports, PCI ExpressCard/34, HDMI, VGA, LAN and a docking port. There's naturally WiFi, Bluetooth 2.0+ EDR and a 1.3 megapixel camera. Battery life is specced at 6 to 10 hours, but we're guessing the upper end of that spectrum will add considerably to the weight. No word on price or availability, but as far as we know Samsung hasn't gone backsies on its "no computers for those dirty Americans" policy, so it looks like we're stuck with the other dozen or so similarly specced laptops out there.[via]

Sony Launched Cybershot DSC-T500

Sony has another Cybershot for us, the DSC-T500. This is a 10 megapixel digital camera which also knows how to record 720p videos at 30 frames per second in the MPEG4 H.264 codec.
The camera appears to be a direct result of popular demand. Here’s what Sony says about the T500:
The camera can record up to 10 minutes of video. Zooming is available while recording. Still capture and high-sensitivity shooting are also available for a low lit environement. The T500 will be available some time later next month for about $400.via

Nokia announces Vertu Signature with 3G

Nokia has finally updated what stood as an icon for money and luxury until now with a few improvements that should have CEOs and fat-walleted friends that you know all excited. But 3G is not the only improvement this richboy toy is getting as WiFi is onboard too with a few changes in its outward design. We know specs don’t matter if you are fixated on buying it, but for us less mortals, the Vertu Signature has a QVGA OLED display of 320×240 pixels with 16 million colors, Bluetooth, WAP 2.0 browser, email support, and VoIP. It also has a SIM tray allowing for easy swapping between your work and personal SIM cards with support for WCDMA dual-band 2100/850 MHz and GSM quad-band 850/900/1800/1900 MHz frequencies. We don’t know when Nokia will decide to spit this out and for how much.via

2009 Pontiac Solstice Coupe

Get the great looks of the convertible without soft top with the 2009 Pontiac Solstice Coupe ($TBA). Available in standard (173 hp) and GXP (260 hp) versions, the coupe is pretty much mechanically identical to the convertible, save for the roof. You won't have to give up all the open-air fun with the coupe, however — it sports a removable hard targa top, and a soft fabric panel to put in place if the weather gets bad while the hard top is at home. As if Lamborghini really needs to release souped-up versions of current models, they've just announced an enhanced Gallardo coupe. The Lamborghini Gallardo LP560-4 ($TBA) crams in a 5.2-liter V10 engine that delivers 560 horsepower. In addition to new front and rear fascias, the four-wheel-drive Gallardo LP560-4 sports an improved suspension and improved fuel consumption and CO2 emissions. Other goodies include Bi-Xenon headlights for night driving and LED daytime running lights. [via]

Metal Gear Solid 4

After all this time, why miss out on Snake's final mission? Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots ($60) is being touted as the final installment in the long-running stealth action series, and should see the return of some of your favorite characters from previous MGS adventures. Unfortunately, the game has been kept under surprisingly tight wraps, so there are few details to go around — but rest assured, the game will be gorgeous, intense, and, knowing series creator Hideo Kojima, a hell of a lot of fun.[via]

Tiger Woods PGA Tour 09

Tiger may be laid up until next year, but that doesn't mean he won't be making an appearance on your TV. Tiger Woods PGA Tour 09 ($60-$40) ups the ante from last year's version with in-game coaching and improvement tips from Woods' real-life coach Hank Haney, a new Club Tuner that lets you calibrate your clubs to fit your "swing," and 15 mini-games to keep things going after the round is over. HTC unveils Diamond-like S740 smartphone

Today HTC announced its new S740, a Windows Mobile 6.1 Standard Edition smartphone with a QVGA display and a slide-out QWERTY keyboard. The S740 adopts the style of HTC's popular Touch Diamond, but shares much more in common with the S710 and S740 smartphones that HTC has put out in the past. One notable upgrade from those devices, however, is the addition of a 4th row to the keyboard for the space and shift/control keys.
As a Windows Mobile Standard Edition device, the 2.4" QVGA display on the S740 lack touchscreen abilities. But the phone does come equipped with 7.2Mbps HSDPA 3G support for the 900 and 2100MHz frequency bands, as well as quad-band GSM/EDGE support. And like the Touch Diamond, the S740 sports a 3.2 megapixel camera, though it lacks the Touch Diamond's autofocus system.
The S740 features 256MB of internal storage and a whopping 256MB of application RAM. A microSD memory card slot provides extra storage room for media files and apps, while WiFi and Bluetooth give users extra connectivity options. A GPS (or AGPS) navigation module will be on board the S740 as well, as will an FM radio.
The S740 comes equipped with a 1000mAh battery that should provide for up to 6.3/5.3 hours of GSM/UMTS talk time or 11.6/16.6 days of GSM/UMTS standby time. The HTC S740 is scheduled to become available across Europe in September of this year. No word yet on pricing or specific carrier availability.[via]

However, I have no idea why Brando didn’t mention the storage capacity. The USB Jewel Thumb Drive Series is currently available in Tear Drop, Ribbon, Classical, Skeleton, Fortune and Diamond varieties. The Classical USB Jewel Thumb Drive is my favorite. UK Stretches Waterproof Capability

Plasma Product Innovation of the UK has successfully developed a chemical which is touted to make any material 100% waterproof. This chemical is already being shared with sportswear manufacturers, and it would be interesting to see how it is applied in the world of personal consumer electronics. The process known as "ion masking" will create a water-repelling membrane over materials, so assuming your iPhone is coated with this, dropping it into the loo due to a bad case of butterfingers won't bother you one bit - other than having to fish it out from the porcelain throne, of course. If this sort of waterproof protection sounds familiar, perhaps it is due to our coverage of the Shellback Coating? Would be interesting to see which manufacturer jumps aboard this train first[via]
