Clothing company Quiksilver comes back with a new timepiece called the Ray. This wearable gadget looks old with its analog device that has a 27-jewel movement. The Ray produces a minimal carbon footprint on our environment and will be shipped in eco-friendly packaging. The company also confirms that these watches will be shipped via sea instead of air to reduce CO2 emissions. The Quiksilver Ray Watch will be available in a limited quantity. Box Phone

This concept phone from Japan’s KDDI AU Design Project looks quite interesting, though it most likely will never make it to the general public. The Box To Play, as it’s called, has a camera and the usual mobile phone functions, but it’s very much inclined towards the musical side of things. The phone itself can fold out to form a box shape, which will have a graphic equalizer displayed on the sides, and users will also be able to “scratch” music on it, to fulfill all their DJ dreams.

BlackBerry 8220 Pearl costs a pretty penny from Rogers

The BlackBerry 8220 Pearl will be offered from Rogers this September and we’re just now getting our first look at the pricing of this new flip. It seems the primary promotional objective on this one is to hit up the back to school crowd in Canada.

The primary advertising agenda here will be the college and university kids. But here’s the kicker. If you buy this phone straight out it costs $599. Ridiculous! But of course, the sky-high prices are there just to get you to agree to a plan. The 3-year voice and data contract is $99 but a special promotion will let you get your hands on this phone for $49.
However, you can only get the promotion if you sign up for the $45 student plan, an e-mail plan of at least $15 or the $15 or $20 Value Pack.[via BlackBerry News]

ZTE wants to become the world’s fifth largest mobile manufacturer. For your info, the company is currently 6th and is China’s number one cellphone manufacturer. ZTE has targeted to sell 100 million units for 2010 which should push the company to No 5 in the world. Its main competitor is China’s Huawei, which was targeted 50 million units next year. Upcoming BlackBerry 8220 and 8210 Smartphone

The specs of the upcoming BlackBerry 8220 and 8210 Smartphone have been unveiled. Online retailer Expansys has leaked a bit of information about these two smartphones. These handset offer 20-key SureType keyboard, Bluetooth 2.0 connectivity, a standard 3.5mm headphones jack, and a microSD memory card slot. The 8210 doesn’t have Wi-Fi but offers GPS navigation. Meanwhile, the 8220 is a quad-band GSM (850/900/1800/1900MHz) handset. Sadly, there is no official announcement from RIM, so the pricing info is still unknown. [PhoneMag]

Nikon’s Latest Snappers are in Town

Nikon is rolling several of its latest snappers to public this month. We have S610/S610c, S710, and S560, all from Coolpix family. These models share similar features, like the New EXPEED Image Processing, Optical VR Image Stabilization, In-Camera Red-Eye Fix, and that they all record High Quality TV Movies with Sound. Each model however has its own capture resolution, maximum zoom, LCD size and body color availability.
The S610 has 10 Megapixel at maximum 4x Zoom accessible via 3″ LCD, available in Smoke Grey, Deep Red and Midnight Black. MSRP: $279.95.
The S610c is similar to S610 except for the inbuilt wireless technology to upload to Nikon’s my Picturetown service. S610c is only available in Midnight Black. MSRP: $329.95.
